Lately God has been working on and teaching me how to control my actions, words, and thoughts towards other people. I don’t gossip a lot, but more than I would like to. In fact I want to eliminate my tendencies to even be part of those types of conversations, and think those kinds of thoughts. It is so easy to complain and joke to a person, when you do not necessarily understand or relate to another person very well. It is embedded in the way humans are socially supposed to interact. So here are a few verses that God has showed me, and that really have convicted me, and have helped me repent from this bad and destructive habit.
“A man who lacks judgment derides his neighbor, but a man of understanding holds his tongue.” (Proverbs 11:12).
“A wise heart accepts commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin.” (Proverbs 10:8)
“Above, all love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sin.” (1 peter 4:8)
