My WOW time has been going really great so far. If you don’t remember what WOW is again, here is a little refresher:

WOW takes place three days a week and we go out into a Colonia (neighborhood). The Colonia I go to now is called Granjas. My group and I spend time with the community there, talking and ministering to families.

Last night we went to Colonia Granjas a little later than normal. That is because one of our leaders holds a bible study there every Tuesday evening and asks if we would help her from now on. The guy of our group, Chad, and I were in charge of the children’s class for the evening, and the evenings to come. We decided to talk about God’s creation. We both are not the best Spanish speakers, so in advanced we wrote down all we would have to say.

The night went fairly well. The kids were pretty crazy and wound- up though. They had a lot of fun decorating pumpkins for Halloween and playing with flashlights (i.e. God created light and dark). The house we were in didn’t have electricity, and at one time during our class a candle tipped over and started my notebook on fire. Then all of the children tried to set their paper pumpkins on fire too!! It was interesting, but only week one. Chad and I will have to tweak a few things in order to make it all run a bit smoother.

I am really excited about this little change in the schedule for my group, I think that we will have fun planning lessons for the kids!
